Pau Jorquera
Born in Barcelona in 1982, he is currently the assistant director of L´Escolania de Montserrat, founder and director of the Bach zum mitsingen project, that has been organizing the participatory cycle of J.S. Bach Cantatas in Barcelona since 2011, in which he has conducted more than fifty cantatas.
He is co-founder of the BACHCELONA Festival and director and founder of the BACH COLLEGIUM BARCELONA, with which he recorded the album BACH IST MEINE FREUDE!, released by the Anacrusa label.
He began his musical studies at the Barcelona School of Music and then at the “La Guineu” School of Music. He studied percussion with Ignasi Vila.
He received the fundamental part of his musical training from professors Ramon Porter and Johan Duijck.
He studied choir conducting at ESMUC with Johan Duijck, Josep Vila and Mireia Barrera. Also, he studied singing, piano and composition.
He holds a degree in Music Education Pedagogy from the UAB (2000-2003).
